When the nation's wealthy made winter visits to Palm Beach more than a century ago, many arrived in grand style in Gilded Age conveyances that served the affluent in the way private jets do today.   They made their entrance in their private railcars, which typically featured plush interiors — sleeping quarters, drapery-hung parlors, kitchens and more — plus the latest technology and often a small staff.    Attached to commercial trains headed for West Palm Beach, the private railcars crossed into Palm Beach over what then was a one-lane wooden railroad trestle where the Flagler Memorial Bridge is today.
