'Please keep me in your prayers. I have no home at this present time, but it could be worse. I pray God blesses me with an affordable apartment.' These are the gut-wrenching words penned on a sticky note that we received from a Florida senior citizen. A woman battling what many are seeing in the headlines: choosing between a roof over her head, managing the electric bill, food on the table, and so many other necessities that shouldn't have to be compromised. As CEO of the Palm Beach County Food Bank, we continue to see more of this heart-breaking reality, especially in our senior population.
